Sunday won't be a washout as rain and storms stay scattered in nature for the most part. The best opportunity for storms will come during the early afternoon. Expect some periods of heavy rain, frequent lightning and gusty winds if caught under one of these storms.

Most will receive around half an inch of rain. Rain coverage will lessen by evening. Early Monday most rain activity will be confined to the coastal parishes. Once again by early afternoon, a decent coverage of showers and storms is expected.

A cold front will approach the area Tuesday bringing off and on widespread showers and t-storms through the day to the local area. Heavy rainfall Tuesday could lead to some very isolated flooding of flood-prone, poorly drained areas. The front is forecast to push through the area and stall along the coast Wednesday.

This actually set up a more comfortable end of the week as humidity levels drop. The humidity drop doesn't last long as moisture levels increase moving into next weekend.
