BELLE RIVER, LA (WAFB) - A third suspect has been arrested in connection with a string of car and home break-ins in Assumption Parish, but investigators said they are still looking for a fourth suspect.
The Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office reported Kaleb Smith, 17, of Morgan City, was arrested Wednesday.
Sheriff Leland Falcon said the arrest stems from a series of home and vehicle burglaries in the Belle River area investigated on October 17.
Smith was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on four counts of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling and two counts of simple burglary. He is awaiting a bond hearing.
Krislyn Vining, 23, of Bayou Vista, and Tager Rosson, 20, of Denham Springs, were previously arrested.
Detectives are still trying to find Austin Williams, 18, of Bayou Vista. His picture was not provided.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call 985-526-1627 or 985-369-2912.
Officials said investigators with the St. Martin Parish and Bienville Parish sheriff's offices assisted with the investigation.
They added involvement by the community, video surveillance, witness interviews, and help from other law enforcement agencies led to the identification of the suspects.
