BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for a murder that happened in 2015.
Quintin Thomas, 28, was sentenced Tuesday, November 14 after being charged with first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, and illegal use of a weapon back in 2015. He faces 40 years for each murder charge, but the sentences will run concurrently.
Officials say in March of 2015, Thomas and his girlfriend, Victoria Guillory, were both arrested in connection with the shooting death of Idalis Smith, 18. Guillory was charged with accessory after the fact for first degree murder. Investigators believe she helped Thomas hide and got him to Lafayette, where he was finally arrested.
Smith was found shot to death in her home. A 34-year-old man was also found suffering from gunshot wounds.
