BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

The Louisiana woman who was reported missing on the Mississippi Gulf Coast more than a week ago has been found.

Maj. Chris DeBack, with the Biloxi Police Department, said Linda Thompson was found Monday morning in a home under construction in a neighborhood off Brodie Rd.

DeBack said construction workers found Thompson in the home around 9 a.m. She was checked out by paramedics but was not taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

“She appears to be in good health. It looks like she’s been taken care of,” said DeBack.

Authorities have been looking for Thompson since she reportedly went missing from her Baton Rouge home Oct. 27. Her SUV was found abandoned in the median of I-10 near I-110 the next day.

DeBack said it appears the SUV ran out of gas, and the home Thompson was found in is not far from where the vehicle was found.Keith Fayard owns the home.

Fayard said he talked to Thompson after workers told him they found a woman in an upstairs bedroom. Fayard said Thompson had a Bible with her, and he brought her some food.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation issued a Silver Alert for the 67-year-old on Nov. 3.

The case was investigated by the Baton Rouge, D’Iberville, and Biloxi police departments.
