YOUR TURN: Livonia Deadly Crash

Source: WAFB Source: WAFB
LIVONIA, LA (WAFB) -

This week’s Your Turn segment goes to Kimberly Roberts.

Roberts and many other people went to our Facebook page in the immediate aftermath of a deadly vehicle accident on US 190 in Pointe Coupee Parish.

Several of the people who commented on our Facebook page were concerned that turning lanes have not been added to this stretch of the highway. Roberts and others want our government leaders to fix it now. In her words:

That's the sad part. It has been brought to their attention more times than should be needed for them to make the move. They have been saying for a while now that they were going to make turning lanes or whatever but they still haven't. How many lives have to be taken from our small community before they decide it's enough to fix the problem with the road? It makes me sick that another family has to endure this pain once again.

That’s Kimberly Roberts’ turn. Now it’s your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, visit us on Facebook or send an email to yourturn@wafb.com.

One year after the historic flood, many people's road to recover is still uncertain. In some places, that doubt is enough to swallow up entire neighborhoods. It's difficult to imagine neighborhoods as nice as Centurion Place have now turned into somewhat of a ghost town.
