GONZALES, LA (WAFB) - The Arc of East Ascension has revealed its lineup of Star Dancers for its annual Dancing for a Cause event, which raises funds and awareness for people with disabilities.
WAFB Anchor Cheryl Mercedes is one of 10 Star Dancers competing in this year's event.

The emcees for 2017 are Ascension Parish Clerk of Court Bridget Hanna and Ascension Parish Schools Superintendent David Alexander. The Honorary Chairman is Ascension Parish Sheriff Jeff Wiley.
Dancing for a Cause will be held at the Lamar Dixon Trademart Building on July 8. Doors open at 6 p.m. The event begins at 7 p.m. General admission is $30 and VIP tickets are $75. They are on sale now and available through The Arc of East Ascension Office and/or any of the Star Dancers.
Tickets will also be available at the door on the night of the event. General Admission entry will be $35. VIP tickets will cost $80. It will include food and a cash bar.
