INDEPENDENCE, LA (WAFB) - A Kentwood man who escaped police is finally behind bars, officials announced.
According to the Independence Police Department, officers with the Kentwood Police Department arrested Deangelo Robbins, 36, Thursday morning.
Robbins had a warrant for his arrest from a Texas law enforcement agency. He is accused of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Officers first attempted to arrest Robbins on Wednesday, April 26, but he managed to escape.
Robbins is now being held in the Tangipahoa Parish Jail as a fugitive from Texas.
No additional details regarding the case have been released.
