LSU softball blanks South Alabama, 6-0

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The No. 17 LSU softball team had nine hits, including two home runs, in their 6-0 victory against South Alabama Tuesday night at Tiger Park.

Amanda Doyle and Allie Walljasper accounted for five of the Tigers (35-15) six runs.

Doyle finished the night two-for-three, with a home run, three RBI and a run scored.  Walljasper had a home run, two RBI and scored a run for LSU.

Starting pitcher Carley Hoover (10-6) tossed her fourth shutout of the year, striking out six and walking only one batter. 

Sahvanna Jaquish was one-for-one from the plate and walked three times, scoring one run. 

The Tigers host Missouri this weekend in a three-game series at Tiger Park, beginning Friday at 6 p.m.
