LSU baseball gives up 5 runs in 7th inning in 9-6 loss to Tulane

NEW ORLEANS, LA - Tulane erased a 6-4 deficit with a five-run outburst in the seventh inning Tuesday night to defeat No. 11 LSU, 9-6, in Turchin Stadium.
LSU dropped to 27-15 on the year.
Trailing 6-4 in the seventh, the Green Wave erupted for five runs on four hits against LSU relievers Caleb Gilbert and Zack Hess. Tulane sent 11 batters during the plate during the inning, which featured RBI doubles by leftfielder Lex Kaplan and by centerfielder Grant Brown.
Hess (4-1), the fifth of seven LSU pitchers, was charged with the loss, as he allowed three runs on two hits in 0.1 inning with two walks and two hit batters.
