DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (WAFB) - Representative Garret Graves stopped by Denham Springs Junior High School on Monday to talk about online safety.
The meeting was hosted by Google and the goal was to teach students how to be smart about what they share online. Some of the tips shared with them included password safety and identifying scams.
Graves says it's vital that young kids learn these skills as technology continues to play a larger role in their lives.
"It's been amazing at the evolution of technology, but we've got to make sure that safety and security protocols, that education continues to progress at the same pace as innovation," Graves said.
Students also learned how to set privacy settings on their social media accounts.
