BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - On Friday evening, around 5:30 p.m., a wreck occurred on I-10 E at Hwy. 415. The wreck had both lanes of traffic shutdown for an extended period of time.
The West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office says the wreck involved two 18-wheelers. According to officials, the driver of one of the 18-wheelers was partially ejected during the crash and sustained serious injuries. The driver has been transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive.
All lanes of traffic were reopened around 7 p.m. Friday night.
Officials with WBRSO say it appears the injured driver did not see traffic stopped in front of him and side-swiped another 18-wheeler. This wreck occurred in nearly the exact same spot as the fatal 18-wheeler crash on Wednesday, April 19.
