Firefighters blame arson for fire at house on Sherwood St. vacant since August flood

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Firefighters suspect arson is to blame for a blaze late Thursday night.

They responded to a home on Sherwood Street near Wildwood Parkway in Baton Rouge just after 10 p.m.

The Baton Rouge Fire Department reported the house had been empty since the August flood.

It took crews just about 20 minutes to bring it under control, but the house did get a lot of smoke damage.
