LSU adds 'combo guard' to 2017 basketball team

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - LSU head coach Will Wade has added his second signee to the 2017 Tiger basketball team.

Daryl Edwards of Northwest Florida State College in Niceville, FL has signed his letter-of-intent scholarship papers to play at LSU.

"We are excited that Daryl is joining our Tiger program," Coach Wade said in a release. "He's a combo guard who has an unlimited range. He's long and has great length which will serve him well on and off the ball. Daryl Edwards is a welcome addition to our program."

The 6'4 combo guard averaged 13.4 points per game, 4.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists as a freshman at Northwest Florida State. In his sophomore season Edwards averaged 13.6 points per game, 3.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 28.4 minutes per game.

The 6'10 power forward averaged 13.4 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.6 blocks a game at Victory Rock. He shot 54.6 percent from the field and 71.1 percent from the free throw line.

The four-star forward is ranked No. 95 in ESPN's Top 100 high school recruits.
