BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The site where the old Entergy building sits in Baton Rouge Mid City could soon be home to a pizza parlor and microbrewery, according to the Baton Rouge Business Report.

The Business Report stated the Planning Commission approved rezoning the building from light commercial to a restaurant that serves alcohol. It is located on Government Street at South 15th Street.

"They are going to have a microbrewery there that serves local beer, so the idea is to adjust the current zoning to allow for alcohol," the report quoted Dyke Nelson, the architect redeveloping the building, with saying. "It’s not meant to be a bar or anything like that which why we’re not seeking this [C-AB-2] zoning adjustment."

The East Baton Rouge Metro Council must approve the request.

The old Entergy building is located on Government Street near the railroad tracks. This is a taxpayer-funded project.
