BAKER, LA (WAFB) - The Baker Police Department arrested an armed and dangerous bank robbery suspect Wednesday and arrested him.
The suspect has been identified as Marcus D. Moore, 40. He was taken into custody around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday near Hwy. 19 and Thomas Rd. thanks to several tips from residents.
The suspect reportedly robbed the Whitney Bank on Ray Weiland Dr. in Baker on Friday, April 14.
Officials say just after 11 a.m. Friday, the suspect, described as a tall, black male wearing blue jean shorts, a gray shirt, and light colored baseball hat, entered the bank and approached a teller window. He then reportedly handed the teller a note demanding $5,000 and informed her to not make eye contact and that he was armed with an "illegal weapon" and to not "make him use it."
While the teller was giving the suspect money, officials say he said, "That's enough," then fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, heading east towards Main St. (Hwy. 19).
