BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Baker woman has been arrested for first degree murder, among other charges.
Baton Rouge Police Department responded to a call about a stabbing on Tuscarora St. in Baton Rouge near the Exxonmobil Baton Rouge Refinery on Friday, April 7.
Police report that the altercation happened when Latasha Thomas, 33, of Baker, arrived at the victim's mother's house, to confront him and a second male for reprimanding her son. The victim said that Latasha pulled up to the house aggressively, got out of the car, started yelling obscenities at them, and spit in his face. Thomas then armed herself with a knife, according to the victim.
According to the victim's statement, Thomas then started swinging the knife violently at him and the second man saying "I will kill all you."
Being the mother of his children, the victim tried to calm Thomas down, BRPD reports. During the wild swinging of the knife the victim said she then stabbed him in the chest because of the way they were disciplining her son.
As Thomas was leaving the mother's house, she slashed one of the victim's tires.
The victim says it took four staples to close the wound.
Thomas was arrested on two counts of first degree murder, one count of simple criminal damage to property, and one count of simple battery.
