The man accused of killing his 13-year-old stepdaughter has a new attorney and a new trial date. Gerald Bordelon appeared in a Livingston Parish courtroom on Thursday. He's accused of killing Courtney LeBlanc.
At prior hearings, Bordelon expressed displeasure with his attorney, Lloyd Sibley. Thursday, the judge removed Sibley as Bordelon's lawyer and replaced him with Wayne Stewart.
Members of Bordelon's family say they wrote a letter to the ACLU requesting they help Bordelon get a new lawyer. The judge also moved Bordelon's trial date from July 11th to January of next year.
