GEISMAR, LA (WAFB) - Siemens officially opened the doors to a new service center in Geismar Wednesday, April 12.
The new facility is devoted to serving the region's oil and gas industry. Several senior executives joined employees for a ribbon cutting at the new facility on Wednesday.
Engineers and manufacturing technicians at the 28,000 square foot service center will bring global technology leadership to the Gulf Coast's oil and gas market. The service center has the latest technology to repair and rebuild equipment such as centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, steam turbines, expanders, pumps, and rotary compressors.
"Siemens is a global company that is also a local partner. That's particularly true here in the Gulf Coast. As Louisiana continues to help lead America's oil and gas revolution, this new facility will bring the services we provide our customers to an even higher level," said Judy Marks, CEO of Siemens USA and vice president for New Unit Solutions at the Dresser-Rand business.
"When our customers' assets require physical services, we invest in our people and in modern facilities like this one to ensure we have the right expertise and the right resources available to help create differentiating value for our customers to an even higher level," said Tim Holt, CEO of Siemens Power Generation Services Division.
Siemens hosted an "Oil and Gas Summit and Technology Tailgate" event as part of the grand opening festivities. The event included mobile technology and hands-on displays.
Siemens has over 200 employees in Louisiana who serve the energy, healthcare, and building technologies sectors.
