OPELOUSAS, LA (WAFB) - The father of a 6-year-old boy, who was shot and killed in Marksville in 2015, has been transferred to another parish jail after getting arrested on battery charges Saturday night.
Christopher Few, 27, the father of Jeremy Mardis, was arrested in Avoyelles Parish on April 8 for allegedly strangling his girlfriend, according to records from the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's Office. He was charged with domestic abuse battery. His bond was set at $4,000.
Officials reported Few has since been transferred to the jail in St. Landry Parish, where warrants were issued for his arrest on burglary and theft charges.

In November of 2015, Few and Mardis were shot following a car chase involving two former Marksville Police Officers and Ward 2 City Marshal Deputies, Derrick Stafford and Norris Greenhouse, Jr.
The young boy died from his injuries, and both Stafford and Greenhouse were charged and arrested for the shooting.
A jury recently convicted Stafford of manslaughter and attempted manslaughter. He was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
