Contractor wanted by Livingston Parish authorities a second time now in custody

LIVINGSTON, LA (WAFB) -

A contractor authorities put out an alert about on Wednesday is in custody Thursday morning.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office reported Mike Simmers, 46, is charged with contractor fraud.

Sheriff Jason Ard put the word out that Simmers was wanted for a second time. Simmers, the owner of TWG contractors, bonded out of jail after being arrested in March on another fraud charge. Ard said the contractor had until noon Wednesday to turn himself in but he had not done so by Wednesday night.

It is unknown if Simmers turned himself in or was caught by deputies.

He was booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center on charges of residential contractor fraud and as a fugitive.

His bond is set at $25,000.
