BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge man has been arrested for domestic abuse and disturbing the peace, Baton Rouge Police reports.
On April 1, police responded to a call about an assault and arrived on scene to find 43-year-old Ernest Diggs Jr. beating his girlfriend.
It all started when Diggs showed up at his girlfriend's job and saw her talking to another man in the parking lot, according to her statement.
She says he accused her of cheating on him, verbally threatened and ran off the man she was talking to, and then went inside her work place and began yelling and cursing in the lobby. The victim says Diggs then came back outside, got in her face, and punched her in the jaw.
Police reported that her jaw was swollen and the inside of her upper lip was cut from the hit.
Diggs says that he showed up to her job to confront her about her unfaithfulness, and 'lost his cool' when he saw her talking to another man in the parking lot.
Police then arrested Diggs for domestic abuse battery and disturbing the peace.
