HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge woman has been arrested for bank fraud, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office reports.
Jasmine Thompson, 24, was arrested after detectives investigated a complaint in September of 2016.
Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reported the victim's routing and accounting number had been compromised and were being used to make payments on utility accounts in the Baton Rouge area without their consent.
Detectives retrieved records from the utility company and as a result of their investigation into the methods of transmission of the stolen financial information, identified Thompson as a suspect.
On Friday, March 24, Thompson was located by members of the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office and taken into custody.
Thompson is currently incarcerated at the Tangipahoa Parish Jail and is awaiting arraignment.
