BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Festival season is in full swing, but even though most events are free, parking is not. One local organization has a solution – ride your bike!
Bike Baton Rouge will once again provide free valet bicycle parking in downtown Baton Rouge. Parking was made available at the recent Ebb & Flow festival and will be available at the Baton Rouge Blues Festival.
"For many people, biking to these festivals is easier than driving," said Mika Torkkola of Bike Baton Rouge. "You don't have to deal with traffic, you don't have to worry about where you're going to park your car, and best of all, you just hop off your bike and you're already at your destination and ready to have a good time."
Last year, over 400 bikes were parked by Bike Baton Rouge. It's a service the organization has provided since 2006.
The Baton Rouge Blues Festival will run from 12 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 8 and Sunday, April 9, with bike parking on North Boulevard by 4th Street.
