Southern University holds High School Mania event

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Southern University Alumni Federation Home Chapter is hosting High School Mania, a recruitment event for high school students interested in attending Southern University on Saturday, April 1.

The event will be held from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Louisiana Leadership Institute, located at 5763 Hooper Rd. in Baton Rouge. It's free and open to the public. Students in grades 9 through 12 are encouraged to attend.

As part of the event, there will be speakers from the Office of Admissions, Academic Affairs, and Financial Aid, as well as representatives from other departments to distribute information and answer questions. There will also be breakout sessions for parents.

Additionally, there will be performances by the Southern University Human Jukebox Band, McKinley High School, six Step teams, and the Starlets, the Leadership Institute's dance team.

"We're excited to host this event and look forward to meeting our future Jags," said Charlissa Laws, 1st vice president of the home chapter and co-chair of the event.
