LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA (WAFB) -

Tornado survivors in Livingston and Orleans parishes have only a little time left to register for assistance with FEMA.

The deadline to register is Wednesday, April 12.

Survivors can register online at disasterassistance.gov or can call 800-621-3362. Survivors can also download FEMA's app. Those who are deaf, hard of hearing, or who have a speech disability may call 800-462-7585 to register.

FEMA assistance for homeowners who sustained damage during the February 7 tornadoes may include grants for rent, temporary housing, and home repairs to their primary residence, as well as other disaster-related needs, such as medical and dental expenses or funeral and burial costs.

The deadline to submit a disaster loan application with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is also April 12. Disaster loans are available to help businesses, private non-profits, homeowners, and renters with recovery efforts. For more information about disaster loans, contact the SBA Disaster Assistance Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955, email disastercustomerservice@sba.gov, or go online here.
