BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - At the capitol Wednesday, some Louisiana lawmakers grilled GOHSEP leaders about the state's Shelter at Home program and Senator Bodi White certainly didn't hold back about his thoughts.
"They charged them $1,250 to take down cabinets and put them back up, and the cabinets were taken down when they took the sheetrock and everything out and threw them away. So they never touched a cabinet, and there were some other items in there that they never did, and that's absolutely fraud with public money," said White.
The program was meant to perform temporary repairs so flood victims could get back in their own homes. However, there were dozens of complaints about the quality of work from some contractors.
