LSU baseball loses 8-1 to Florida in Game 2 of series

GAINESVILLE, FL - Sophomore right-hander Brady Singer fired a complete-game six-hitter Saturday to lead 11th-ranked Florida to an 8-1 win over No. 4 LSU at McKethan Stadium.

LSU dropped to 17-6 overall and 3-2 in conference play.

Singer (3-1) threw 109 pitches in the victory, limiting LSU to one run on six hits with no walks and four strikeouts.

LSU starting pitcher Jared Poche' (5-1) suffered his first  loss of the season as he surrendered four runs - three earned - on six hits in four innings with four walks and two strikeouts.

Florida's 10-hit attack was paced by catcher Mike Rivera, who was 3-for-3 at the plate with two  RBI. Rightfielder Nelson Maldonado and shortstop Christian Hicks had two RBI apiece for the Gators.
