WASHINGTON, DC (WAFB) -

US Sen. Bill Cassidy has released a statement after Republicans withdrew the American Health Care Act (AHCA) from the floor of the US House of Representatives before the vote on it.

Obamacare was designed in a fundamentally flawed way that continues to hurt families through excessively high costs and deductibles. We still need to repeal and replace this failed law, which will collapse under its own weight. This is not over. The Cassidy-Collins plan would fulfill President Trump’s pledge to meet America’s health care needs in a fiscally conservative way that lowers premiums.

Cassidy and other senators have also introduced an alternative to the Affordable Care Act. It is called the Patient Freedom Act (PFA). It was introduced in January.
