Slidell contractor arrested for home improvement fraud

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Slidell contractor has been arrested for allegedly stealing more than $49,000 from the victim, who hired the contractor to repair her flood-damaged home.

The victim says she hired Patrick McGee of Perpetual Business, llc. to do work on her home after the August 2016 flooding. She says she entered into a signed contract with McGee in October of 2016 and paid him an accumulative total of $49,500 using person checks and cashier's checks.

According to the report, the victim claims she has not spoken with McGee since January 25 after attempting to contact him numerous times. She says the work at her home has not been completed. She also says as of March 13, McGee has not attempted to contact her to complete the work or to return any of her money.

Officials with the Baton Rouge Police Department were able to determine McGee is the owner of Perpetual Business, llc. McGee is charged with home improvement fraud, felony theft, and misapplication of payments.
