BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge General will be offering a special $25 Love Your Heart Day event to help people understand individual risk factors and create personal prevention plans.
The event will be held on Saturday, March 25 at 7 a.m. and will offer cholesterol, glucose, carotid artery, EKG, blood pressure, heart risk assessment, and BMI screenings, valued at $450.
"The sooner that we identify people's biggest risk factors of heart disease, the sooner we can start making the changes we need to prevent or manage individual cardiac events," said Dr. Andrew Olinde, chief medical officer at Baton Rouge General. "For some, these screening tests are reassurance that they are on the right track, but for others, it's a wake up call to allow them to begin a path towards better health."
Heart disease is responsible for one in four deaths in Louisiana, and at the Love Your Heart Day event, you can learn your personal risk for this top cause of death and make a plan toward better health.
Screenings are provided by Baton Rouge General, Baton Rouge General Physicians, Baton Rouge Cardiology Center, Baton Rouge Clinic, Cardiovascular Institute of the South, CVT Surgical Center, the Vascular Clinic, and the Vascular Specialty Center.
