JEFFERSON PARISH, LA (WVUE) -

A second person has been arrested in connection with the March 15 quadruple shooting and stabbing at an apartment complex in Metairie.

Terry Manuel, 52, of Albany Street in Kenner, was booked on March 18 with one count of being an accessory after the fact to murder, according to Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand.

Normand said a forensic search of a cell phone indicated that Manuel was an associate of Armande Tart, the man accused of killing four people and injuring one in the Pasadena Avenue apartment attacks. Normand said that Tart called Manuel after the killings and asked him to pick him up. At the time, Tart allegedly told Manuel that he had just committed an armed robbery.

Normand said Manuel drove by the crime scene on Pasadena Avenue but didn't stop due to a huge police presence. He then agreed to meet Tart, who was in New Orleans, driving down Martin Luther King at N. Claiborne avenue in one of his victim's car. Tart then ditched the car and fled with Manuel.

Normand said that the motive for the murders was a drug theft and that a large amount of cocaine was found in the victim's Pasadena Avenue apartment.

Normand said Manuel has a lengthy criminal history with multiple drug arrests, as well as arrests for drive-by shooting, theft, battery on an officer, possession of stolen property, aggravated battery, resisting arrest, assault, public intimidation and numerous traffic offenses. He said Tart and Manuel have a history of "possibly committing crimes together."

Normand said there may be other arrests as the investigation continues.
