MARKSVILLE, LA (WAFB) -

In day four in Marksville, all 12 jurors were sworn in.

Another panel of potential jurors will be questioned Friday morning to find two alternate jurors. The trial will begin Monday, March 20 at 9 a.m.

Former Deputy Marshal Derrick Stafford is on trial, accused of killing a six-year-old boy during a car chase. The prosecution and defense are now going back and challenging some of the jurors who have been selected so far.

Race is beginning to play a big part in the courtroom with the defense saying the prosecution has excused five black people one right after the other. To that, the prosecution responded that the defense used all 12 of their challenges to dismiss white people.
