LSU fell to UNO, 7-4, in a 15 inning marathon Wednesday night at Alex Box Stadium.
UNO left fielder Dakota Dean scored the game-winning run for the Privateers after leading off the 15th inning with a double and later scoring on a ground ball by John Cable.
Owen Magee added an insurance run with a single to score Cable, followed by a bases-loaded walk for Aaron Palmer to make it 7-4.
John Michael Stephens (1-0) earned the win in relief for the Privateers and Collin Strall (0-2) took the loss for the Tigers.
LSU center fielder Zach Watson went 2-for-5 and first baseman Jake Slaughter finished with 3 RBI and a run scored.
Samuel Capielano led the Privateers with four hits and two runs scored and Dean added three hits, a run scored and an RBI.
The Tigers fell to 13-5 and UNO improved to 10-7, sweeping the series against the Tigers for the first time since 2008.
LSU begins SEC play Friday night, hosting the Georgia Bulldogs at 7 p.m. in Alex Box Stadium.
