Gov. Edwards sends letter to FEMA to appeal assistance denied to some areas hit by tornadoes

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Gov. John Bel Edwards has sent an appeal letter to FEMA related to the agency's denial of assistance to some areas affected by tornadoes in February.

The letter is attached below.

FEMA has denied individual assistance for Ascension and St. James parishes. It has also denied public assistance for Ascension, Livingston, Orleans and St. James parishes.

Edwards is appealing both assistance denials.
