ASCENSION PARISH, LA (WAFB) - Traffic is a daily nightmare for most who live along I-10 in the Baton Rouge area. On Thursday night, the people in Ascension Parish had a chance to weigh in on long-term traffic solutions.
The meeting was a chance for people to voice their concerns, get their questions answered, and speak directly about the problems they face on the road. It's part of the Move 2042 initiative, which is aimed at making improvements to residents' daily commute.
"We don't want to do this in a vacuum. We want to make sure that the work that we're doing affects the needs and community values that people care about in their particular location, which is why we're doing these meetings all over the region," said Kim Marousek, director of planning for Capital Region Planning Commission.
There are several more meetings planned for the capital region, including in Baton Rouge.
