BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Jewel J. Newman Community Center is currently enrolling for its GED program.
"By 2018, nearly 63 percent of all jobs in the U.S. will require some kind of postsecondary education and/or training," states the Center on Education and the Workforce in Washington D.C.
The GED program will be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Registration will continue through March 31.
" The GED exam, which offers an equivalent to a high school diploma, tests students' problem solving and critical thinking abilities while also emphasizing skills needed in workplace and college settings," states a press release. "Students will have an opportunity to further their skill in a fully aligned national college- and career-readiness standards program, offering cutting-edge technology to help test-takers prepare, pass, and progress beyond the GED test."
