BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A nationwide effort to show support for President Donald Trump made its way to the steps of the Louisiana State Capitol on Saturday.
Baton Rouge was just one of dozens of cities across the country to host a "Spirit of America" rally.
The rallies were organized by Trump supporters wanting to push back against the many marches and protests that have unfolded since the president took office.
One of the organizers of the Baton Rouge rally was former congressional candidate Robb Maness.
"There's a whole group of Americans that elected Donald Trump, not just voted for him, but elected Donald Trump," Maness said. "And they elected him because of his America-first policies that he is implementing and he's doing a great job getting them implemented."
Maness also pointed out that he wasn't an original supporter of the president, but he said he's been convinced of the president's ability to move the country forward.
