Part of Greenwell Springs Library reopens to the public following historic flood

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - An East Baton Rouge Parish library that was swamped by the record flood reopened its doors Friday … sort of.

The Greenwell Springs Library branch took on water, causing major damage to the building's walls, furniture and equipment.

"Our staff has done an outstanding job in getting in here and making sure that the building is ready for the patrons' access," said Lori Juge with the library.

Only 65 percent of the library building has been reopened to the public.
