BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Police have made an arrest in connection with a deadly shooting on Victoria Drive just days before Christmas.
The Baton Rouge Police Department reported Julius Bess, 28, is facing a murder charge in the shooting death of Keifer Johnson, also 28, on Dec. 21, 2016.
It happened at a trailer park on Victoria Drive near the intersection of Winbourne Avenue and Airline Highway.
Investigators said Johnson was found on the road suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. They added they still have not established a motive for the shooting.
Bess was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a charge of second-degree murder. Bond has not been set.
Authorities added Bess was already in parish prison for his suspected involvement for a shooting on Dec. 5, 2016. They said he was caught on Dec. 26, 2016 after a police chase. He was booked on attempted second-degree murder and other charges in that case.
