Man arrested for allegedly threatening to beat elderly man with baseball bat

NAPOLEONVILLE, LA (WAFB) - A Napoleonville man was arrested Thursday for allegedly threatening to beat an elderly man with a baseball bat, says Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon.

Duncan Wiggins, 30, was arrested Thursday, March 2 in connection with a battery committed upon an elderly man during a dispute. Deputies responded to a call near Napoleonville Wednesday afternoon where Wiggins allegedly went to visit a relative, and at some point during the visit, created a disturbance and struck the elderly man.

Officials say Wiggins left the area, but threatened to return with a baseball bat. Deputies were able to locate Wiggins nearby carrying a baseball bat.

Wiggins was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of simple battery of the infirmed and disturbing the peace. He was jailed pending a bond hearing.
