Tigers facing first major test of the year against No. 1 TCU

HOUSTON, TX (WAFB) - No. 2 LSU faces No. 1 TCU Friday night in the Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic at Minute Maid Park in Houston.

The Horned Frogs are 7-1 overall this season and winners of three straight games.

TCU victories include a sweep of Penn State, two-out-of-three against Arizona State and wins against UT-Arlington and Rice.

TCU hits .267 as a team including 11 doubles and 11 home runs. The Horned Frogs are averaging over eight runs per game, outscoring opponents 69-33.

Leading Hitters:
Nolan Brown: .400 batting average, two doubles and four stolen bases.      
Luken Baker: .346 batting average, three home runs and eight RBI.     
Austen Wade:.323 batting average, one triple, two home runs, six RBI and six stolen bases.

The TCU pitching staff has a 3.25 ERA.

Nick Lodolo: 2-0, 2.70 ERA and 13 strikeouts.        
Jared Janczak: 2-0, 2.77 ERA and 10 strikeouts.  
Brian Howard: 1-1, 3.27 ERA, 10 strikeouts and opponents hit only .150 against the starter.
Sean Wymer: 0-0, 0.00 ERA, four appearances, 5.1 innings, one save and nine strikeouts.
