According to WTVA, an Ole Miss Signee is among four arrested by Lowndes County Sheriff's investigators.

New Hope Park residents in East Columbus are resting a bit easier after sheriff investigators made some arrests in a weekend burglary. Among the arrested, a person considered a big man on New Hope's school campus.

"I was very shocked because I know him personally in class he’s just a good kid all around," said Reed's classmate.

19-year-old Taekion Reed. Lowdnes County sheriff investigators arrested the Ole Miss signee along with three juveniles Tuesday.  Reed has been charged with burglary and larceny of a dwelling.  Reed's classmate shares his thoughts on seeing his mugshot.

"I think he didn’t want to be there," said Reed's classmate.

And on his future "He has a lot of potential in front of him and hopefully he can get over this and play football if he wants too," said Reed's classmate.

WTVA reports that Reed made headlines during national signing day a month ago after sending Mississippi State’s cap flying across a room then put on an Ole Miss hat signing on with the Oxford-based university.

Reed's classmate who lives in New Hope Park applauds Lowdnes County sheriff investigators for making the swift arrests.

"They are doing everything they can I know they will do so to get the job done," said Reed's classmate. But also taking extra precautions. "Makes you a bit more cautious making sure you lock your doors and everything like that," said Reed's classmate.

According to WTVA, the case if far from over, sheriff investigators plan to make more arrests soon.
