FIRST ALERT TRAFFIC: Roadway incidents and closures for Friday, July 20

Below is a list of traffic incidents and notices for Friday, July 20.

I-10 widening project between Highland Road and LA 73 is ongoing. Click here for updates

East State Street Bridge over Corporation Canal between Dalrymple Drive and Highland Road will be closed immediately (as of Thursday, July 12) for emergency bridge repair. The detour route will be Highland Road to Dalrymple Drive.

I-12, eastbound and westbound travel lanes, from about three miles West of Livingston (LA 63) to one mile East of LA 441 (Holden), will have alternating lane closures starting Sunday, July 15 to Saturday, July 21 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. At least one lane in each direction will remain open at all times. This lane closure is to allow crews to do asphalt work.

Beginning Monday, July 16 from 9 a.m. through 3 p.m., the eastbound left lane on US 190 (Florida Boulevard) will be closed to perform guardrail repairs. The point closure will be 1.2 miles East of US 61.

LA 30 (Nicholson Drive) will have alternating lane closures beginning 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 17 and continuing through Monday, July 23 at 8 p.m. Lane closure will be occurring on the southbound side of Nicholson Drive between West Chimes Street and Burbank Drive. During the required work, one lane of travel will be maintained in each direction. This closure is necessary for asphalt paving operations in the Nicholson gateway Project.

The Huey P. Long Bridge (Old Bridge) on US 190 West will have an inside lane closure from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from Monday, July 23 and until Monday, August 6. This closure is for bridge maintenance.

Claycut Road between South Acadian Thruway and Marwede Avenue will be closed from Monday, July 23 until Tuesday, March 19, 2019 for the replacement of the bridge there.

Henry Road in Prairieville will be closed temporarily beginning Tuesday, July 24 at 7 a.m. for safety improvements. The western section of Henry Road from Highway 73 to Highway 930 will be closed. The road is slated for safety widening as part of the Move Ascension project. The closure is expected to last three days.

The outside westbound lane will be closed on the I-10 Mississippi River Bridge from 4:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 28 and Sunday, July 29. The St. Louis entrance ramp to I-10 westbound will also be closed during these times. The lane closure is due to a routine bridge inspection. This closure will allow vehicles 12-feet wide or smaller to pass through the construction zone.

The Ascension Parish Department of Public Works announced that a portion of New River Canal Road will be closed starting Monday, July 2 to repair a collapsed culvert. New River Canal Road, south of Cornerview Road in Geismar, will be closed for about four weeks between Wildred Kling Drive and Kling Extension. Drivers heading west from that location will have access to LA 73 and those traveling east will have access to Kling Road.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) is replacing two bridges on State Route 571 in Amite County near the Louisiana state line. The replacements will close traffic on State Route 571 in both directions. Bridge No. 0.0 and Bridge No. 0.9 on State Route 571 in Amite County have been designated for replacement. Work is expected to begin on June 25 and continue through late fall of 2018.

Bluff Road (LA 928) in Ascension Parish will be closed from Tuesday, May 29 at 7 a.m. to Tuesday, August 7 at 6 p.m. The closure is necessary to lift the bridge and replace the concrete girder. Detours information is as follows:

West Main Street in Gonzales is closed in both directions starting Monday, February 12 for emergency repairs. Officials said the closure is near The Carriage House at 12138 West Main Street due to collapsing culverts. The road will remain closed until further notice.

LA 413 is closed at Discharge Bayou in Pointe Coupee Parish until further notice. The bridge has sustained damage to the support structures. Please use alternate routes.
