BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Big Buddy Program is looking for adult mentors to work with underserved children and youth ages 5 to 18. The required commitment is only six hours per month.
Mentoring director Kristen Lizana said the August flood depleted the organization's network of mentors that serves some 500 children each week. They're especially in need of mentors who can offer networking opportunities in local businesses.
Big Buddy will host an orientation session for new mentors on Thursday, January 19 at 6:00 p.m. It's happening inside the Big Buddy office at 1215 Main Street in Baton Rouge.
Check out their website for details on the program and to fill out the online application. Call (225) 388-9737 for more information.
