BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A family in mourning this Christmas gathered to remember a loved one gunned down this weekend.

Kendrick Bell, 28, was shot and killed in his apartment at the Spanish Arms complex Friday night. His family says Bell worked as a cook in town. He leaves behind a six-year-old son. They also had this plea to the shooter, who is still on the run.

"All I want, whoever did this if they have a heart, come forth. Give yourself up. This is going to put a scar on me forever. I'm going to hold on to a higher power because I know he can fix it for me," said Bell's grandmother.

Police have not released any information about a motive or a suspect at this time. If you have any information in this case, call Crime Stoppers at 225-344-7867.
