BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Cleanup efforts at the LSU Lakes are helping both wildlife, and golfers.
Volunteers with the University Lakes Improvement and Preservation Association were at the City Park Golf Course on Dalrymple Sunday morning, finishing up work they started three weeks ago.
They were pulling out weeds and trash from a small body of water known as Bayou Duplantier.
"It's choking the bayou here and it's making it difficult for the wildlife," said volunteer David Steiner. "It also runs into the lakes, so we don't want to contaminate the lakes with invasive species."
