(WAFB) - The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has granted another 30-day extension to the Transitional Sheltering Assistance (TSA) program.
The TSA program is intended to provide short term lodging for those displace by flooding and cannot return to their homes. Applicants with insurance will remain eligible for the TSA program as well, however, this period of assistance will only apply to eligible applicants who are checked in at a hotel participating in the TSA program by 11:59 p.m. on December 17.
The state requests that during this extended period, hotels in states other than Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, and Arkansas are no longer utilized by TSA applicants. The state will also work to assist individuals in finding rental resources and other solutions in order to expedite recovery efforts.
All TSA applicants are authorized to remain in lodging with a checkout date of no later than January 17, 2017.
