Saints place Armstead on injured reserve

NEW ORLEANS (WAFB) - The New Orleans Saints have placed left tackle Terron Armstead on injured reserve, ending his 2016 season.

This year Armstead fought through knee and quad injuries, but was forced to miss six games.

The Saints signed linebacker Jason Trusnik to take Armstead's roster position.

Trusnik has played for the New York Jets,  Miami Dolphins and Cleveland Browns, making 25 starts in 117 games.

The Saints travel to Phoenix to play the Arizona Cardinals Sunday at 3:05 p.m.
