BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - In an ongoing effort to combat impaired driving, the Baton Rouge Police Department, in conjunction with the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, and Louisiana State Police will conduct a joint sobriety checkpoint on Thursday, December 15.
The checkpoint will be somewhere within the city limits of Baton Rogue and will continue into the early hours of Friday morning. Officers will be screening drivers for signs of impairment and will enforce any other visible violations.
The exact location of the checkpoint will not be released in advance. Those who plan to drink alcohol should always designate a driver or arrange for a safe ride home. This checkpoint may be cancelled in the event of severe weather.
