BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Two seniors from Baton Rouge Magnet High School earned perfect scores of 36 on the ACT.
On average, less than one tenth of a percent of students who take the test achieve a perfect score. Across the U.S. only 2,235 out of nearly 2.1 million students in the 2016 graduating class earned a score of 36.
The two students are Chi Cao and Nicholas Cole Roland.
Cao is the daughter of Quang and Lai Cao. She is a member of Mu Alpha Theta and the BRMHS Orchestra. She plans to attend University of Texas at Austin or Georgia Tech and major in chemical engineering. Cao is also a National Merit Semifinalist and a National Advanced Placement Scholar.
Roland is the son of Jeffrey and Ruth Roland. He is a member of the BRMHS Choir and Orchestra. He has plans to attend Princeton and major in neuroscience. Roland is also a National Merit Semifinalist and a National Advanced Placement Scholar.
Fourteen students from BRMHS have earned a perfect ACT score since 2012.
